About

Sales inventory for a retailer of packaged goods who holds some stock and drop-ships the rest. A catalog in Shopify's and GS1's words (products, options, variants, every identifier a seller uses, bundles, retail/MAP/cost with history); own stock by location kept by a transaction ledger; sources the business can sell from without holding anything (other websites read politely, suppliers' feeds, price sheets typed in), every offer remembered as a snapshot and every listing matched to the catalog; Find, one screen answering own stock, every supplier's offer ranked by cost and lead time, the reference prices and the best lead time; orders filled from a location or drop-shipped from a source's offer, a secure link for the customer and one for the supplier, payments recorded never processed, returns with dispositions; an availability feed with keys. Two shipped agents, the expert and the Stock Buyer, propose; placing an order with a supplier pauses for a person. Modelled on mattress retail.

This is an application of the MaluDB Business OS. It runs on your office's server, not on a desktop. People open it from the OS launcher after a super-admin grants them access; on an enrolled MaluOS Desktop it also appears in the MaluApps window as a launcher.

Install

On a MaluDB Business OS server

1. Sign in to the OS as a super-admin and note the domain the kernel serves.
2. sudo git clone https://github.com/maludb/maludb-os-inventory /srv/apps/inventory
3. php /var/www/bin/app_install.php plan /srv/apps/inventory --by <super-admin email> --domain <domain>
4. Read the plan. It is read-only and lists the database, virtual host, services and agent the installer will create.
5. sudo php /var/www/bin/app_install.php apply /srv/apps/inventory --by <super-admin email> --domain <domain>
6. The application appears in the launcher for everyone who is granted access, and its expert agent is hired in Agent HR.
